The Pumpkinseed sunfish (Lepomis gibbosus) is one of the prettiest fish, fresh or salt water in the world. A brightly colored male guarding its nest is truly a magnificent site. This fish was caught at Hartman Creek State Park, and posed nicely in my aquarium.
