On a warm winter day with snow melting a heavy fog ascended from Lake Winnebago and the surrounding landscape. The Asylum Point Lighthouse watches over the lake, but is never lit. Although not functional it is a beautiful little lighthouse on Lake Winnebago, and there are not many of those. Asylum Point, and Asylum Bay must have been named long before there was a chamber of commerce, or a tourism board.
