The Euraka Rapids Project turned the old Eureka Dam into a rapids and fish passage. The project makes the migration run of Walleye, Lake Sturgeon, and other gamefish. However it is equally importi because it allows safe passage of Walleye and Lake Sturgeon fry over the dam. Previously the week swimming young fish got trapped in the roller wave created by the low head dam, which could kill them. The rapids and fishway solve this problem. The project was completed with the help of over a dozen groups, but Walleys for Tomorrow was largely responsible for the construction and funding of the rapids and fishway.
